I am planning a Disneyland trip for early next year and I keep seeing that Disney is offering a limited-time discount on theme park tickets right now. I have flexible dates and a rough budget, but I have been burned before buying a deal that turned out to be the same price as a normal off-peak ticket. Is this discount actually below the usual price for the same tier of days, or should I wait and watch for a better offer? I want to know what to check before I commit.

Compare the discounted price against the same tier on the regular calendar, not against the headline rack rate. Disney prices tickets by tier and date, so a deal that looks like a cut can just be a low-tier day at its normal price. Pull up the date you actually want, note the tier, and check whether the promo price is lower for that exact tier before you buy.
