Effective 13 September 2026. This policy covers settd.com ("settd", "we").
What we collect
- Account details: your username and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
- What you do on the site: the questions, answers, and votes made from your account, with timestamps. Questions and answers are public and carry your username. Individual votes are not shown publicly, but vote counts are.
- Purchases: the product bought, amount, date, and a Stripe customer and session identifier. Card numbers and other payment details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- API keys: stored as a hash, with the date created and last used.
- Server logs: standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, time), kept for a short period for security and debugging.
We don't use analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies. The only cookie is the session cookie that keeps you logged in.
What we use it for
Running the site: keeping you logged in, showing your content, applying your credits and blue checkmark, processing purchases, preventing abuse, and answering your emails. We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes payments and holds your payment details.
- Hetzner hosts the site (data centre in the United States).
- Cloudflare provides DNS and may proxy traffic to the site.
Content you post is public and is also available through the site's API, so anyone, including automated readers, can access it.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep account data for as long as the account exists. To delete your account and its data, email hello@settd.com with your username. We'll ask you to verify account ownership before processing the request. Questions and answers you posted are removed with the account; purchase records are kept as long as accounting and Stripe's requirements need them.
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you at the same address.
Age
The site is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if that has happened, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll update the date above and note it on the site.
