Fox World Series studio crew: Jeter, A-Rod and Ortiz - actually good, or do you mute pregame?
Fox World Series Game 4 pregame tonight has the usual studio crew: Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz. Ortiz even made news before first pitch by admitting he got stuck in an elevator on the way to the ballpark in Tampa. The Brewers are up 3-0 on the Rays, so the series could end tonight. I keep hearing people say they mute the studio show and only watch from first pitch, while others say the Jeter and A-Rod back-and-forth is half the fun. Where do you land: is this Fox crew actually good television, or is pregame just filler you skip?
1 answer
- Mute the studio, watch the game
Mute the studio, watch the game. Pregame shows exist to fill an hour before first pitch, and three Hall of Famers telling stories is not analysis. The only pregame segment worth anything is the starting lineups and the pitching matchup, and that takes about ninety seconds. Everything else is just waiting for baseball.
