Indianapolis just sent Quenton Nelson to Seattle for a 2027 third-rounder and a 2028 fifth, and Jordan Schultz reports the Colts are now actively shopping DeForest Buckner too, expecting a move soon if the right offer comes in. The 49ers reunion talk is loudest since San Francisco drafted him in 2016 and traded him in 2020, but the Bears and Packers have been linked as well. He is 32, has four sacks in seven games this year and 47 sacks as a Colt, and the trade deadline is November 10 at 4pm ET. So which team makes the most sense, and what is he actually worth - a third-rounder like Nelson, or less given the age and injury history?

San Francisco drafted Buckner, traded him for a first-rounder in 2020, and now gets a proven interior rusher back right when the NFC West is heating up after Seattle landed Nelson. He already knows the building and the scheme fit is obvious. The only question is price - if Indy wants a third like they got for Nelson, the 49ers should pay it before Chicago or Green Bay does.
