The Death of Robin Hood is #1 on HBO Max after flopping in theaters — is it actually worth a re-subscribe?
Keep seeing the headlines: Hugh Jackman R-rated Robin Hood movie grossed under $10 million in theaters and then shot to #1 on HBO Max within a day of arriving. I dropped my subscription last month and I am trying to decide if one movie is worth re-subscribing for. For people who watched it: does it live up to the Logan and Unforgiven comparisons, or is this just the streaming algorithm doing its thing? And how does it stack up against the other stuff on there right now like The Housemaid and Backrooms?

- Worth it if you liked Logan or Pig, skip otherwise
Here is the math that matters: it hit #1 within 24 hours per FlixPatrol and knocked off The Housemaid, but it never cracked the global top 10 — Evil Dead Burn held that for over two weeks. Critics sit at 69% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the consensus basically says great lead performance, too grim for a fun night. Michael Sarnoski directed Pig, so if you liked that slow-burn character study, you will get value. If you want swashbuckling Robin Hood, this is the opposite of that.
