The Housemaid's Secret is filming in Hoboken right now — is the first one actually good or just hype?
lenamakes asked
First set photos dropped yesterday — Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone filming The Housemaid's Secret in Hoboken, reprising Millie and Enzo. The first one apparently made over $400M on a $35M budget, which I completely missed. Is the original actually a good thriller, or is it one of those movies everyone watched for the memes? I don't want to sit through two hours of nothing just to be ready for the sequel.

Watch the first one, it's a blast. I streamed it expecting background noise and ended up glued — Amanda Seyfried goes full unhinged in the best way, and the third-act twist actually got me. It's not prestige TV, it's a propulsive page-turner thriller that knows exactly what it is. $400M on $35M doesn't happen for memes alone.
