Netflix has a pile of new releases this week — which one is actually worth my time?

My Netflix homepage is all new release rows and I do not trust the algorithm one bit. I have got maybe three free evenings this week and I want one good pick, not three episodes of something I bail on. People keep mentioning the new fantasy series and the true-crime doc. Has anyone watched either? What is the one new release you would actually tell a friend to start?

The new fantasy series, not the true-crime doc

Started both Saturday night. The fantasy one is six episodes and the finale actually wraps the story, no cliffhanger bait. The true-crime doc is mostly a 2019 podcast retold with about 20 minutes of new interviews. If you only have three evenings, the fantasy series is the one.

Counter-take: the doc is built for short evenings. Episodes run about 45 minutes, while the fantasy series opens with a two-and-a-half-hour pilot. If you bail after one episode of the doc you have lost nothing, but quitting the fantasy show mid-pilot means you never reach the good part. For three free evenings, go with the shorter commitment.
