Giants just lost Brian Burns to a feared torn ACL a week after losing Jaxson Dart — is the season toast?
Watched the Giants beat the Titans 12-7 in that nor'easter and it was ugly. Burns went down in the 4th quarter, couldn't put weight on his right leg, and Schefter and Rapoport are both saying torn ACL. He had missed every practice with that ankle sprain and still dressed. Last week it was Jaxson Dart (MCL, PCL, meniscus — season over). Harbaugh keeps saying "some hope" until the MRI but we all know what that means. With Burns probably done, is there anything left of this pass rush? Does Kayvon Thibodeaux finally break out or is it all on Abdul Carter now? Be honest with me — 2-1 feels like the best it gets.

Thibodeaux is a pending free agent playing for a contract, which means he will flash exactly enough to get paid elsewhere. Carter is the only one with real upside. And honestly? The Giants were 31st in sacks BEFORE Burns went down. There was no pass rush to lose. Harbaugh's "some hope" talk is coach-speak. Brace for a top-5 pick, which is probably the best outcome anyway.

Put it in context: Burns was second in the NFL last year with 16.5 sacks, and this season he has zero. The Giants have one team sack through three games — 31st in the league. Dart's knee took out the offense, Burns takes out the only proven pass rusher. At 2-1 they are one game into a stretch where the defense has to be perfect, and it is not. The honest answer: this team needs a top draft pick more than it needs false hope. Sell in fantasy, all Giants.
