Woke up to LeBron James trending hard and I genuinely cannot tell if something real happened. Lakers training camp is underway, so it could be that. Or an actual announcement. Or just the usual content machine doing its thing in late September. If there is real news, what is it — and where do I read the actual version, not the aggregator slop? And if it is nothing, what is everyone reacting to? I refuse to scroll through forty quote-tweets to find out.

This happens every year when Lakers camp opens — every beat writer needs a LeBron angle and one quote gets aggregated into a hundred posts. I am just going to watch his minutes in the first couple of preseason games. If he is load-managing in October that tells you more than any quote this week.
