Halloween is tomorrow and I still need trick-or-treat candy - one big bulk bag or variety packs?

Halloween falls on Saturday this year, so I expect a big crowd tomorrow night, and I have bought nothing yet. The most-searched candies heading into the weekend are Sour Patch Kids, candy corn, Snickers, Twix and Skittles. Do I grab one giant bulk bag of a single candy and hope kids like it, or pay more for variety packs so nobody walks away disappointed? What actually runs out first on a busy street?

A single bulk candy is a gamble: if kids on your street do not like it, you are stuck with pounds of leftovers on November 1. Variety packs cost more per piece but they move, because every kid finds something they want. Check the count per bag, not just the total weight, since the small bags are what actually get handed out.
