Limewash paint vs peel-and-stick wallpaper for a rental accent wall?

I keep seeing those soft, cloudy limewash walls everywhere and I want one behind my bed. I rent, so I need something reversible. Real limewash paint needs a clear wax or sealer coat and I'm scared it'll eat my deposit. Peel-and-stick wallpaper has limewash-look prints, but I'm worried it reads as flat and fake up close. Anyone done either in a rental? How did move-out go?

Don't commit to a full gallon. Buy the $15 sample pot, paint one poster board, and live with it for a week. Limewash is just paint plus movement — if the color's wrong you hate a whole wall. The sample tells you everything you need to know. And in a rental, it's the wax sealer coat that scares landlords, not the paint itself. Sample first, then decide.
