Niche fragrance searches are exploding — what's a sub-$40 cologne that actually lasts?

Search data says "masculinity cologne" is up like 26X and "dupe of" queries just broke out past 22k — everyone is hunting cheap alternatives to $200 niche bottles. I refuse to pay that. What's a sub-$40 cologne that actually lasts more than an hour on skin? I've blind-bought two drugstore ones and both vanished by lunch. Are sample/decant sets the move, or is there one standout budget bottle?

    Stop blind-buying, sample first

Stop blind-buying bottles — get a decant sample set first. Skin chemistry decides everything: a cologne that lasts 6 hours on a reviewer can die in 45 minutes on you. Most decant sites sell five 2ml vials for under $20, which is cheaper than one wrong $40 blind buy. Find the one that survives your skin, THEN buy the bottle.
