Little Giant ladder recall is trending today: how do I check if mine is affected, and what is a safe replacement?
I saw Little Giant ladder recall in the trending searches this morning and I own one of their multi-position ladders, bought a few years ago. I use it all the time around the house and now I am wondering if I should stop using it until I know. Where do you actually check, model number and serial, and what happens if mine is on the list? And if it is recalled, what is a solid replacement step ladder that will actually hold up?

- Check the CPSC recall list by model number first
Stop using it until you know. The model number and serial are on a label on the rail, and you can search them on CPSC.gov or the Little Giant recall page in about two minutes. If yours is on the list, the maker owes you a free repair or replacement, so file the claim before you spend a dollar on a new ladder. A recall does not mean every Little Giant is bad, it means one batch has a faulty locking mechanism, and the list tells you exactly which ones.
