Best LED face mask for redness and breakouts: are the $200+ ones actually better, or do the cheap Amazon ones do the same thing?
I keep seeing LED face masks everywhere this week and my skin is red and breaking out more than usual with the cold weather. The big names like CurrentBody and Omnilux run $200-400, but Amazon has masks for $60-80 that claim the same red and blue light wavelengths. Has anyone actually compared them? I care about redness and occasional breakouts, not anti-aging, and my budget tops out around $150. Is there a real difference in the LEDs, or am I paying for the brand?

- CurrentBody Series 2
If you are going to spend, spend on the CurrentBody Series 2, not a random $60 mask. It publishes its actual wavelengths (633nm red, 830nm near-infrared) and its irradiance numbers, so you can check the dose instead of trusting a listing. The cheap ones usually run fewer LEDs at lower power, so you sit there twice as long for half the light. Still, try a $60 one first for two weeks - if your skin tolerates daily red light, then upgrade. Do not buy any mask that will not list its wavelength and power density.
