Former Disney CEO Bob Iger announced a new book on October 20, One Last Time: Managing Crisis and Building Resilience at Disney, out March 2, 2027, 256 pages, 34 dollars, co-written with Dan Schwerin. It covers his second stint as CEO from 2022 to March 2026, after his first memoir Ride of a Lifetime in 2019. It lands weeks after Bob Chapek published Behind the Castle Walls, which reportedly mentions Iger 121 times. Iger is also on Good Morning America today. Is the Iger book a must-read on crisis leadership, or is this just the next round of a CEO feud in hardcover?

    Read the 2019 book first

Do not preorder a 34 dollar hardcover about a feud you have not read the first half of. Ride of a Lifetime is in every library and it tells you how Iger actually makes decisions, which is the only way to judge whether One Last Time is insight or score-settling. If the library copy leaves you wanting the second-tenure chapters, buy it in March when the reviews separate the leadership lessons from the Chapek gossip.
