The foldable iPhone Duo sold out at launch and new orders are shipping late January 2027. My iPhone 15 is in good shape, battery 91%. I was planning to upgrade anyway next year. If I sell now on the used market while the hype is hot, do I actually pocket more, or does the Duo launch crash used iPhone prices across the board? Paying a resale premium for the Duo is not in the budget.

Wait, never pay the hype premium

Nobody should pay a resale premium on a first-gen foldable. Screens that fold are still a durability gamble and the early batches always have the quirks. Your 15 at 91% battery is fine — ride it out, let the Duo get a year of real-world failure data, then buy at a sane price.
