BJ's Early Black Friday starts Oct 23 — up to 40% off electronics, 30% home, 20% toys. Shop now or wait for real Black Friday?

BJ's just announced their Early Black Friday kicks off October 23 with deals on TVs, toys, and home stuff — up to 40% off electronics, 30% off home and kitchen, 20% off toys, plus an extra 10% off toys with a coupon. I'm doing holiday shopping on a budget and honestly tempted to just get it done now. But I've also heard early sales are mostly clearing out inventory and the real doorbusters land later. For those of you who track this stuff: which categories actually get cheaper on real Black Friday, and which should I just buy now?

Early Black Friday is inventory clearance wearing a holiday costume. The extra 10% off toys coupon is the only part I'd call a real deal — toy prices genuinely bottom out now because stores want them gone before December. TVs and electronics: track them on a price history site for two weeks. If a TV is 40% off now AND at its all-time low, buy it. Otherwise wait — last year the same sets dropped another 10-15% the week of Thanksgiving.
