Withings put sync behind a subscription — am I really supposed to pay monthly to see my own scale data?

Bought the scale outright two years ago. Now the trend graphs and auto-sync to my health app need the monthly plan. It's my weight. From my scale. In my house. I refuse to add another $10-ish a month to the subscription pile. Before I rip it out and buy a dumb scale: does the free export to Apple Health / Google Fit still work, or did they lock that down too? And is the paid tier actually worth it for anyone here?

Export it yourself and keep your own log

I track everything in a paper journal anyway (old habit from the studio), so when my old tracker app paywalled my history I just started exporting. Withings still lets the scale push to Apple Health / Google Fit on the free tier as far as I can tell — check the export settings in the app before you change anything. Then your data lives somewhere you control and you can graph it in a spreadsheet however you like. Paying monthly to look at numbers your own scale measured has never sat right with me either.
