MANGOS ETF (MGOL) starts trading today — 0.99% a year to hold six AI giants. Is this ever worth it?
Leverage Shares is launching the MANGOS ETF (MGOL) on Nasdaq today — an actively managed fund covering Meta, Anthropic, NVIDIA, Alphabet, OpenAI, and SpaceX. Expense ratio 0.99%, so about $99 a year per $10k. I hate fees by default, but four of these you can just buy yourself, and the other two (Anthropic, OpenAI) you cannot buy at all as a retail investor. Is the fee basically a ticket to private-company exposure, or is this just an expensive way to own Nvidia and Alphabet? What am I missing?

- 0.99% is a private-company access fee, not a stock fee
Quick math: $99 a year per $10k, and it compounds — over 10 years at 8% gross returns you give up roughly 9-10% of your ending value to fees versus a 0.03% index fund. The honest question is what you are buying: Meta, NVIDIA, and Alphabet are trivially available in any brokerage. The fee is really for Anthropic and OpenAI exposure, which retail cannot get any other way. So ask yourself: would I pay $99 a year per $10k for a small private-AI sleeve? If yes, MGOL is a simple wrapper. If not, buy the three public names and skip it.
