AI music generators are up 5000 percent — can a non-musician actually make something listenable?

Search growth for AI music generators is absurd right now, over 5000 percent on trend trackers. I have zero theory, cannot play an instrument, but I need short original tracks for videos and I am tired of stock libraries. Precise question: with a current generator, what is the actual bottleneck, prompt skill, editing the output, or the rights and licensing when you publish? Has anyone here shipped a track made this way that real listeners did not immediately clock as AI? What did you have to fix by hand?

The free tier, but check the commercial licence first

Free tier first, and read the licence before you publish anything, that is the whole game. The generation itself is cheap and fast now. What costs you is cleanup: endings that fade weird, vocals that slur one word, and loops that repeat with nothing changing. For short video beds under dialogue, listeners genuinely do not notice. As a standalone track they absolutely do. And check the plan terms line by line, some free outputs cannot be used commercially at all. Pay for one month only when you have a real video to ship, not to experiment.
