Ninja Auto Barista Pro is trending hard — does it actually make real espresso?
Search interest in the Ninja Auto Barista Pro is up something like 100x this year, so I have to ask: does it make actual espresso, or is this pressured-basket theater? I run a Breville Bambino with a $150 hand grinder and the shots are decent, but the all-in-one pitch is tempting for counter space. Has anyone here pulled a shot on the Ninja and compared it to a real machine? What would you check first — pressure consistency, temperature stability, or just blind-taste it?

- Your existing Bambino + real grinder
I pulled three shots on my neighbor's Auto Barista Pro last month and the machine part is honestly fine — my probe thermometer read 198-200F consistently, which is real brew-temp territory. The bottleneck is the built-in grinder: it cannot go fine enough for a proper 25-second shot, so everything ran fast and a little sour. If you already own a Bambino plus a real grinder, the Ninja is a downgrade dressed as an upgrade. The hype is the marketing, not the extraction.
