M6 Mac mini just hit its all-time low — buy now or wait for the M7?
My 2018 Intel mini is choking on Docker and Lightroom, and the M6 just dropped to the cheapest price I have ever seen it. The classic worry: Apple announces the M7 two months after I click buy, and I feel like an idiot. For anyone who bought a Mac late in a refresh cycle — how long did the 'old' chip actually stay fine for real work? Is the all-time-low discount worth the risk, or is waiting the smarter move here?

- Base M6 mini, cheapest config — skip the upsells
The mini's whole value is the base price. Apple wants $200 for the RAM bump and $200 for storage you can buy as a $90 external SSD. Buy the cheapest M6 at the all-time low, keep your Docker images on the external drive, and pocket the difference. An all-time low is a sale, not a fire sale — if the M7 were right around the corner, retailers would be clearing M6 stock with much deeper cuts than this.
