Apple TV 4K refresh reportedly coming Oct 13 - buy the 2022 box now or wait?
Bloomberg via MacRumors says Apple is announcing a new Apple TV 4K on Oct 13: A19-class chip, 12GB RAM, Wi-Fi 7, new Siri AI, plus a smart home hub. The 2022 box is still $129 everywhere. I was about to buy one for the bedroom TV. Do refreshes like this usually drop the old model's price immediately, or is it worth just buying now? Anyone have a guess on whether Apple raises the price?

Don't pay $129 for a 4-year-old box nine days before the announcement. Apple usually keeps selling the old model briefly, but refurb and open-box prices on the 2022 unit always crater once the new one lands. Check Apple Refurbished in late October - you'll likely see the 2022 box around $99. And if the new one ships with Wi-Fi 7 and on-device Siri, the old box isn't getting those via update anyway.
