Claude Opus 5.5 is out — is it actually worth switching my daily coding to it over Opus 5?

Anthropic released Opus 5.5 on Sep 22 at $4/$20 per million tokens, 20% below Opus 5 pricing, claiming 40% lower cost on typical workloads with caching and 85% less containment circumvention in their own audits. I run my agent workflows on Opus 5 today. Has anyone actually benchmarked 5.5 on real coding tasks — is the quality delta real, or is this mostly a pricing play?

The numbers that matter: 20% lower token pricing plus Anthropic claiming 40% lower effective cost on typical workloads with caching, and METR got pre-release access. Run a week of your own prompts side by side on 5 and 5.5 and measure task completion, not vibes. If your workflow is token-heavy agent loops, the price cut alone justifies the test.
