Bose Ultra Open Earbuds 2nd Gen — $299 upgrade actually worth it from the first gen?
I've been running the first-gen Ultra Open Earbuds for about a year and honestly love them for walking around the city — being able to hear traffic is the whole point for me. Bose just dropped the 2nd gen at $299 with louder audio and a wireless-charging case. For anyone who has tried them: is the sound noticeably better, or is this mostly a charging-case refresh? Trying to decide if I sell the old pair or just keep rolling with them.

I got to try the gen 2 at a pop-up last week. The fit is basically identical to the old ones — same ear cuff — so if you liked that, no surprises. Sound is a little fuller at mid volume, but honestly at $299 I couldn't justify it as an upgrade while my first-gens still work. If yours are on their last legs, the wireless-charging case is the genuinely useful bit — one less cable to fiddle with on the nightstand.
