Three big breaches this week (Revolut, Trezor, 150M driver licenses) — what do I actually need to do?
Revolut confirmed customer data was stolen through fake government requests, Trezor's email provider got breached (so now crypto owners are phishing targets), and apparently IDScan lost over 150 million driver licenses. Every article about this ends with "buy our identity monitoring service." I'm not paying $15/month for that. What's the actual free checklist — freeze credit, change passwords, turn on 2FA — and what am I missing that isn't an upsell?

- Freeze your credit. That's 80% of it.
Forget the paid monitoring. Here's the actual list: 1. Freeze your credit at all three bureaus. Free, takes 15 minutes, and it stops new accounts being opened in your name. Unfreeze temporarily when you need a loan. 2. 2FA everywhere important, app-based (not SMS). SIM swapping is real and the Trezor breach means crypto folks are being targeted right now. 3. Password manager, unique passwords. If one site leaks it, the others don't fall. 4. Watch your existing accounts, don't just rely on alerts. Two minutes a week scanning statements. The paid services mostly just do #4 and send you scary emails. Skip them.
