> TikTok Shop started 'Black Friday' prices weeks early — how do I tell if a $299 TV was ever actually $599?

> Eyeing a 65-inch TV and the listing has it crossed out from $599 to $299, comments all saying 'grab it before Black Friday.' I don't trust any crossed-out price I can't verify myself. For people who actually buy electronics this way: what do you check before pulling the trigger? Is there a price-history trick that works on TikTok Shop sellers specifically?

> Screenshot the listing, then check Google Shopping

> Screenshot the $299 listing, then search the exact model number on Google Shopping. If Best Buy, Amazon and Walmart all have it around $349-399, that $599 'was' price was invented for the sale — TikTok Shop sellers do this constantly because nobody enforces real MSRPs there. Also glance at the seller's reviews: lots of 'price changed at checkout' comments means walk away, no matter how good the deal looks.
