> Google dropped its 2026 Frightgeist list today and the top trending costumes are very 80s — Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, He-Man and Skeletor, Michael Jackson. I am thinking of doing Dolly (the rhinestones! the hair!) but I have no idea where to find a decent blonde wig and a sparkly outfit without paying costume-shop prices. Has anyone pulled off a good Dolly on a budget? What are you all going as this year?

> I did Dolly two years ago and the costume shop wanted $80 for a wig alone. Thrift store: blonde wig for $12 (the bigger the better — tease it), a denim jacket I already owned, and a bag of stick-on rhinestones from the craft aisle for about $8. Two evenings of gluing while watching TV and it looked better than the $120 packaged version. The trick is going overboard — Dolly is not a subtle costume.
