> Searches for the Dyson toothbrush are up 18x and it costs roughly double what an Oral-B or Sonicare flagship goes for. I want to know what the money buys: is there a measurable difference in motor spec, brush-head oscillation, pressure sensing, or app telemetry, or are you paying for industrial design and the name? If someone's compared the teardown-level specs, I'd love the actual numbers.

> Run the brush-head math before you pay the premium

> The brush itself is only half the cost. Dyson replacement heads run about $12-15 each and need swapping every 3 months, so you're at $48-60 a year in consumables versus $24-30 for Sonicare heads. Over three years that's an extra $90+ on top of the already-higher sticker price. If the engineering numbers don't show a real difference in cleaning performance, you're just signing up for an expensive subscription to brush heads.
