> Tom Brady's new biography is all over my feed — is it actually worth reading?

> The new Tom Brady biography is everywhere this week with the stuff about his split with Gisele Bundchen, including claims he made a failed last-ditch effort to save the marriage. I am not usually a sports-bio person but the coverage is making it sound like there is real reporting in it, not just repackaged tabloid stuff. For people who have started it: is it worth buying, or should I just read the excerpts and move on?

> Library hold, not a purchase

> I am skeptical of every sports biography and this one is no exception, but my actual advice is simpler: put a hold on it at your library. New celebrity bios drop in price fast, and the genuinely interesting reporting always ends up summarized in the long-form excerpts anyway. Paying full hardcover price to be first to the same six headlines everyone will quote for free this week is a bad trade. Read the excerpts, and if the author clearly did more than clip articles together, buy the paperback when it lands.
