> First time all year I have actually cared about the White Sox and the game against the Astros is tonight and trending everywhere. Problem: no cable, no sports package, just streaming. Is MLB.TV worth it for one game, and does the blackout thing screw me if I am in the Chicago area? What channel is the game even on, and is there a legit free-trial way to catch it? Not trying to sign up for something I will forget to cancel.

If it is a national broadcast, an indoor antenna is $20 and gets you every national game for free forever — I bought one three years ago and it paid for itself in a weekend. If it is only on the regional network, grab a free trial of a streaming service that carries it (Fubo usually has the longest trial), watch the game, cancel the next morning with a calendar reminder. Do not buy a full month of anything for one late-September game. And if you are in Chicago, MLB.TV alone will not save you because of the local blackout.
