> I hold a small amount of bitcoin, roughly two weeks of my grocery budget, bought back when the fees were lower. Every few months the bitcoin to zero takes go viral and I panic-check my wallet, then it recovers.

> For someone who is not a trader and does not want to watch charts all day: is the rational move to just sell and be done with the stress, or is that the exact retail mistake that gets mocked every cycle? Looking for the cold math, not hype.

> Cut your position in half

> Run the math on your own stress. A grocery-budget-sized position is roughly 2-4 percent of a typical monthly budget — small enough that neither outcome changes your life. The panic-checking has a real cost in attention though.

> The rational move for a non-trader: sell half now, keep half as a lottery ticket. You lock in peace of mind on the sold half, and if it moons you still participate. Historically, every bitcoin to zero wave has been followed by a recovery, but every recovery has also been followed by another 50 percent drawdown. Size the position so you can ignore both.
