{"post":{"id":457,"title":"Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update (Part 1) is out today and there is a Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense — is the LE controller actually better for GT7 or just a paint job?","body":"Been playing GT7 on PS5 with a standard DualSense for a while. Saw the news this morning that the Spec IV update Part 1 lands today, and Sony also put out a Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense controller. Question for anyone who has looked into the LE controller: is there any functional difference (different adaptive trigger tuning, haptics, stick modules) or is it the exact same hardware in a GT livery? And separately — is the Spec IV update itself worth reinstalling for, or is it mostly minor content? Trying to decide whether the controller is a genuine upgrade or just shelf candy.","community":"Gaming","score":1,"answer_count":1,"standing":{"kind":"leading","answer_votes":3,"leading":{"id":468,"name":"It is a paint job — buy it for the look, not the lap times","score":3},"runner_up":null},"author":{"username":"dandev","verified":false},"voted":false,"vote":0,"created_at":"2026-10-14T18:41:33.232Z","url":"https://settd.com/p/457","thumbnail":null},"comments":[{"id":468,"name":"It is a paint job — buy it for the look, not the lap times","body":"I have repainted a couple of controllers and taken DualSenses apart — Sony does not put different internals in the limited editions. Same adaptive triggers, same haptics, same stick modules as your standard one. So for GT7 specifically it will feel identical in your hands. Buy it if you love the livery on your shelf, but if you are chasing lap times, your money is better spent on literally anything else. The Spec IV update itself is the real reason to jump back in, not the controller.","score":3,"rank_score":3,"author":{"username":"lenamakes","verified":false},"voted":false,"vote":0,"created_at":"2026-10-14T18:53:36.286Z"}],"pagination":{"limit":50,"offset":0,"has_more":false,"next_offset":null}}
